‘Chico’ oil on canvas 70cmx50cm

‘Chico’ ink and watercolour A4
This is my friend janes’horse ‘Chico’ he is gorgeous, and my fav colour, so it was lovely to paint him. I managed to get some great action shots of him prancing around the field, which is great as I want to incorporate much more movement and action into my horse art. The first painting is oil, the second a small A4 ink and watercolour. My next plan is to do a really large narrow oil painting, with a part of Chico showing…..just got to try and find the best way to make him fit on the odd sized canvas…..or go and take some more photographs.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Man, your horses rock! I can’t pick a favorite. Really impressive, the movement in the second piece. I can almost feel him pounding the ground!! I hope you’re pleased with them.

Thank you Laura, I am really pleased with the oil, for the first time I decided that I should put the brushes down and stop. I have another two large ones of Tenor that I am still working on….well trying to re do my overworking, slowly learning when to stop. Lol

Boy, don’t we all need to learn this? Imagine how many more masterpieces we’d have if we only stopped at the perfect moment. Oh I lack the patience and I also love color and the combination is bad. I need to have like 2-3 going at once. You’re doing beautiful work, Rebecca.

Lol, I do have four on the go at the moment, that can be frustrating too, mainly as the living room is lacking in space, especially as my canvases have gone large…..masterpieces, now that would be fantastic, I’ll keep practicing.

You’re already turning out amazing stuff! It must be fun to have so many in process.

Lol, sometimes it’s a stress, but it’s the way I have to work…especially with these oils.

Beautiful. Animals are so hard to draw and paint. You’ve captured the spirit of this one.

Thank you Judith, James has yet to see it in the flesh, it will be interesting to see what he thinks of Chico.

Thanks Debi, it also is a great advert if found on Google, or Pinterest, sometimes it can be a troublesome journey to find somethings original website home. I have heard that people have discovered their art work has been used on t shirts, etc, without their knowledge? As I have not discovered the how to sell bit yet, I don’t want someone else beating me to it? Love to the horses❤️❤️

I’ve been happy with Society 6 so far. and I hear you, about someone “beating you to it”… it happened 😦 while I don’t mind someone pinning my images! selling what I’ve designed/created, is just plain Piracy.

Oh no that’s awful, have you heard of art finder? I am thinking of producing some work to sell there, instead of painting just for fun.

no? art finder… will look it up though.
and yes, as long as our work is “online” we really need to ‘beat these guys to the punch!’ and start putting the work into several shops. all over. so whoever sees something similar, recognises it…. as Ours. not “Joe’s”
