July is here, world watercolour month, I am short of time, and have a back log of art to post, so this is quick, thank you Charlie at doodlewash for inviting us all to join in with this celebration. Today I will be catching up with all my blog posts, and hopefully painting too 😀
The study of the first was done on my hand made claybord, I used ink and scratched into the board. To make the clay topping I used kaolin clay ( powder form) pva glue, and some white acrylic. It was a quick trial, I have many more boards created to try out some more experiments. At the least they work as great scratch boards if you cover them in black ink. I was not content with leaving this horse study, so at a silly time in the late evening I decided to start a watercolour and ink horse on normal watercolour paper,- my small arches block. Happy watercolour month everybody, have painty fun❤️

Great stuff both – what a contrast in mood. Love the purple background, it’s positively funky and is making me smile!

Thanks Jacob, I sometimes find as I use so much brown with the animals, now and then a bright vibrant colour puts in a great big appearance 😀
