After feeling inspired by the app sktchy, I started trailing back through the thousands of photo reference opportunities, and found a gorgeous photo of ‘luna’. Lauren her mum had kindly shared the photo, and I took up the challenge, another bright and colourful loose painting, I think it works well with people. Luna’ dressing up’is on its way to the real Luna in the USA.

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel,inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

Normal watercolour painting Margaret, the app is just full of photos people post for others to paint from, plus you can see the results of other people’s great paintings, from the same photo, so very inspirational 😀

Thanks rebecca – I just dowloaded the app. So is it basically photos you can paint from and then upload and share? Did you upload this one there? If so, how do I find? Is it kind of like “PaintMyPhoto”?
