This gorgeous boy just appeared rearing off the page, I really enjoyed painting him. I originally left the background white, then after looking at it for a few days I decided some colour was needed. Having added the colour ( which looks better than when it was white) I think I went to hard with the pigment, I tried toning it down but it nearly went to the point of wrecking the whole thing, so I have now left alone.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
This is gorgeous!! Love the pose and I think the background works beautifully! 😍

Thank you, I really got in a pickle, decisions on colour, 😀 too much choice, maybe too bland, quite like the idea of those kuretake bright paints, bit different, fluorescent yellow and pink maybe lol

Oh this is special! I love the entire impression of this guy and I am particularly fond of the folds of skin at the neck! My eyes are totally drawn to this spot and it looks wonderful. Well done!

Rebecca – Tremendous! Reminds me of a graphite or charcoal sketch ~ the movement and strength come through and through!

Thank you Cynthia, you are right, I guess the colours I picked are very graphite like 😀

Oh boy I just LOVE your horses! Absolutely wonderful! I really liked the glow on his skin.
I would say instead of plain white this works fine 💜
