Feeling chuffed with myself, having joined in with Charlie’s nature hike for a second day.
Today I took a trip down memory lane, to somewhere I took my daughter many years ago. It used to be called the ‘otter and owl sanctuary’, now it is called the ‘new forest wildlife park’. They used to specialise in just a few species, but now house quite a variety of European and non European animals. Otters can be found in many areas around the uk, unfortunately I have only ever seen one at this centre…..at least you get to see them up close. They are gorgeous and it always reminds me of an old film I watched as a child called ‘ Tarka the otter’, I seem to remember crying, so it must have been sad, I think it was based on a true story, but time could have distorted my memory on that one.

This is just marvellous Rebecca, as always – what an adorable little character, a lovely twinkle in his eye.

Thanks Jacob, the twinkle could be a fish scale stuck in his eye?? Lol he is just finishing munching on a fish.

He’s probably just ate the fish I specifically told him not to, that’s why he’s looking all naughty. And he knows full well that I won’t be able to stay mad at him for long!

Wow that is fantastic! How wonderful to have a sanctuary so near to paint animals. I shouldn’t have moved from NZ. I had all sorts of animals nearby.

Thank you Catherine, they really do have a large selection, maybe I will do some non native breeds for this nature hike. I was going to stick to British initially, but I will see how far my legs can take me!

Yes, fair is fair, lol glad you like him, I am so in love with this lamy pen, I did not use it too much on this one. I really want a few now. Do you leave your carbon ink in the pen, or drain it out each time, as it can clog the nib?

I barely have time to sneak in my doodlewash so I could never drain my pen each day. Thankfully, I’ve had no issues with clogging with the carbon ink and Lamy. Doodling with the pens daily seems to keep them flowing fine. I just rinse and clean them when they’re empty and so far so good! (And yay! I have a pet otter!!!😃🎉)

I thought you might say that, as a frequent user of the pen, I might drain mine now and then as I am a flitter of mediums 😉

Thank you, I think he is young, quite small really. I am always surprised when up close how big they really are.

What a charmer, so cute, could easily get lost in those adorable eyes and just stare, feed them fish, stare some more. Lovely painting. Thank you for sharing this sweetness.
