‘Simon the seal’ ink and watercolour #naturedoodlewash
Today when I got home from work, I decided to pop along for a nature hike with Charlie and friends. If you are interested in joining in with this exciting months challenge then pop over to Charlie’s blog for more info.
Living in the New Forest we have an abundance of wildlife to be found, but I have concentrated on a rarely found creature in our neck of the woods. The seal can be found on the south coast, but even more unusually has been sighted on the Beaulieu river, a small part of the new forest.
For this doodlewash I used for the first time my lamy pen, yay. And thank you Charlie for the recommendation, it did not let me down, in fact I loved it. I used a selection of watercolour brands.
Simon is AWESOME Rebecca! Nice to see you on the nature doodlewash from your “neck of the woods!”

Thanks Charlie, you will have to fight it out with Jacob on the simon seal adoption. They are adorable creatures, my fav soft toy when I was young was a white seal pup, which you could stuff your PJ’s in though a zip at the base.

Haha… I knew I’d be fighting with Jacob, so I got there just before he did! Lol But okay… he can have it as it’s all he’s talked about for quite some time. 😉But the toy version sounds equally awesome!

Thought it could be of use, you never know, and it has not been greatly advertised….well not around here, and we are rural??

Thank you, I will put that down to the lamy pen, loads better than the dip pen I used to use…just need to remember you can’t rub ink out…been on oil for a while where corrections are easily sorted. Lol

Oh my word I love Simon! To echo Laura, you do have the ability to capture the essence of an animal. Who knew you had seals in the Beaulieu river! And I’m glad you like your Lamy – I have a safari, but probably need a finer nib…what model is yours?

Thank you, I have a safari, and bought the extra fine nib, so impressed, I would like to own two, he he, greedy me, one for black ink and one for brown.
