I have been watching the under painting of this llama for the last couple of weeks, eventually I added some pastel work. I actually wish I left it just as the watercolour under painting, but I have no photo to show you as a comparison, so it is Upto your imagination, I guess. It was much more muted in tone, and softer to view. My friend had been talking about her llamas in our lunch break at work, they are such fun creatures, and it inspired me to create something after seeing her photos.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Very velvety – I love this so much – and wonderful textured background. Llamas are very “in” now too, hot!

Thank you Susan, he was fun to paint, but my mind was not quite in the right place, I might try again some day, maybe a different pose?
