At last dried and complete this beautiful skewbald horse from paint my photo. I will put this in the Hampshire open studio exhibition. Last day of holidays, lots achieved, but I am off for a ride now as it is such a lovely morning.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Wonderful painting for the exhibition, Rebecca. You will have an awesome show!

Thank you, I hope so. I am only exhibiting for one day, although the show is on all week, work commitments don’t allow! Mind you it will be the first time I have done any exhibiting, so one day is quite enough. This week has been great to make a start on items to sell. Back to work tomorrow, so painting will slow down 😕

PS I love the soft neutral colors of the horse and the gentle pinks and beiges in the background. Will fit well with any decor.

Oh yes that pink I am in love with, found that it appeared on three paintings, made a quick alteration, so they weren’t all samey.

Thanks Charlie, I had a great ride, the sun was out, the ground is drying up from all the rain. A great end to my holiday, planned to paint a rainbow, but I don’t think time is on my side sadly.

Now that’s a handsome horse! And I think it knows as much, what a pose. Love the hair – and the background gives it a nice, calm summer evening feel, which is very welcome indeed!

Thanks Jacob, now the hair was painted with a new brush I had bought, really happy with it, it didn’t provide a hair look that I had imagined when deciding to purchase, but it is a versatile tool, it will be a grab brush on each occasion I think- Mazart dome blender and mop brush set from SAA.
