So this Sktchy app is proving to be a great benefit in inspiring me to get painting people. It’s actually quite addictive. The only hard but is deciding which photo to use, there are so many and I have saved loads to paint already….probably enough for each day of the year! If you fancy adding the app please look me up to say hi….Rebecca Evans.
This is my latest, I spent almost a whole day painting today, as my car was in for its annual road test ( MOT) .Three more are in the prep process, just the basic base layer, while I decide how I want them to look.
This is ‘ Princess of the party’ 10×14″ 140 lb.

Here are a couple more I did the other day, the cute baby is already on her way to the USA for her mum.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Wow, these are great Rebecca. The eyes especially!

That’s some skill! How chuffed I’d be if I could get three of this calibre down in a single day! More happy volunteers, I trust – the eyes have it; so engaging. I really like the impact the splatter background has on Grace in particular – really brings her out even more. Look forward to more Sktchy stuff!

Thank you Jacob, I didn’t paint and finish all three in a day, I would be a very happy person if I did, too….the last two I did over the past week. Do take a look at the Sktchy app, I think they have/allow digital stuff too, well I definitely have seen digital art on there

Kind of relieved to hear that! 😉 Sktchy looks fab from what I can see. I dont have any iOS devices, so hope its made available on other platforms soon – I guess until then I’ll have to make do with the chaps at ol’ Reddit Gets Drawn!

Yes I looked in their FAQ about it – it says they are hopeful of an Android app, and to stay tuned. It looks a great find, so fingers crossed!

Ok not sure if my last comment posted but wanted to be sure you saw this – you are a natural for human and animal faces, I think, not surprised at all that you’re flying with both of them! Really glad you’ve found a great avenue for selling your work this way too, you’re doing great, bravo! I’ve started drawing animal eyes in graphite again, nice to find my way back to art that way, I do think faces are special and you really have a gift for all kinds of faces, woman!

Are these the first faces (human) you’ve really done? They’re really good!! I’m posting here and there on Instagram, very quick and simple, but I need to do the bird day wrap up from August argh!! It’s nice you have time off and will be painting and glad you are selling too!!

Yes they pretty much are, every six months I think I should try to paint people again, then give up, this time as I had so much coloured paint to use up, I went for it in non conventional colours and really enjoyed it…. I think enjoyment always shines through, can’t get enough of it, and this Sktchy app 😀
