I have been back on the Sktchy app to find something great to paint. Lola Garcia had posted a beautifully cute photograph of a girl in a hat. I am rather drawn to portraits that have props! By that I mean, unusual make up, glasses, hats, head bands, flowers or anything a little unusual, that I have not discovered yet but may do in the future…like maybe piercings?

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Gosh, wonderful highlights and perfect contours. I am super impressed. You have a grand way with portraits!

Thank you Cynthia, I think if I had to do them in standard colours I would struggle…I am loving using colour, a pleasant change from the neutrals in the animals

This is supremely cool Rebecca – love what you’ve done with colour, it so suits her. I enjoy portraits with props too, especially if they obscure fiddly bits like hands, or vast amounts of hair!

Thank you Jacob, I need to add those to my props list, the first two had mad hair and hands, so I must be drawn to them too….I guess something different in a portrait is what my eye is drawn into?

Thank you Margaret, I am loving the use of colour, with people portraits, when I tried with horses I get in a right mess, I guess it is because I have done them the same way for ages, I will keep practicing the horses in bright colours, but I keep muddying the colours, grrr!

You are the part of the new era of artists and art inspired by digital world. I think it will soon become a major post-modern genre of art.
