Todays post is quite quick, this is Bettie, the New Forest pony. Whilst taking photographs of my friends warmbloods, I also took a few photos of Bettie, another friends pony. Bettie is super cute, she is a young three year old, and I am sure will make a great riding pony. As she moved around the field she certainly showed off her fantastic paces. Watercolour only with this one, no experiments today!

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel,inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

Thank you Charlie, Bettie was very full of life that day, moved into a new field, so a good reason to run around, horses don’t need much of an excuse.

Oh Laura, that is so weird, someone else said the exact same thing yesterday, I can’t get out of self doubt, …..it’s is a huge block that just holds me back, but your kind words and others are all hopefully going to help break that wall down 😀
