Todays post is another using the dylon fabric dye. I managed to get out and try a different camera lens, taking photographs of my friend James’ horses, lottie and Chico ( both warm bloods) -hopefully I will get out to try it a little more during the week, but for the short time today I was quite impressed with the results it gave me. For this painting I wanted to restrict my palette of colours to just four of the dylon shades, tulip red, burlesque red, yellow, brown, ( it was hard not using my usual brown palette). I also used a watercolour white, to change the shades of dylon fabric dye.

‘Lottie’ two year old warmblood, A4 cold press 140lb painted with dylon fabric dye and watercolour

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
her eyes! so lovely 🙂 and I quite like her thin blaze to her nostril; well done Rebecca!

It is really easy to heap praise on your work, Rebecca. And the artist behind it, every bit as wonderful, it’s a pleasure to have met you here. This one is really special, even though all of your horses are amazing. Just love it.

Thank you Laura, I am just as pleased to have met you too. I would love if we all had a blog get together, but most of the larger circle I follow and visa versa, are on the other side of the world…..I look forward to blog catch ups every day. Everybody is so inspirational, and you have changed my mind about abstract, I love them 😀😀😀😀

Thank you, I just through the I would use up the mixes of dylon, seemed silly to throw away ….and it was a challenge to go for a different colour, well mentally, as I usually like Browns and neutrals

Oh you are quite right there, she is a very people’s horse, if she wasn’t so big, she would love to climb on your lap for a cuddle! She will be a very nice horse when she grows up.
