Couple of small oil paintings finished

Today I finished two small oil paintings, both are square 20×20 cm. One hare and one llama.

I also primed four large canvases with background washes, ready for some horse oil paintings based on my photographs I took recently of Tenor, my friends Andalusian horse.

In my next post I will need your help and advice before I start these large horse paintings. I will have a break before I start them and jump back to some watercolour, pastel, and charcoal…oh and hopefully some Artgraf, watersoluble graphite.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

    • Thank you, I do love painting hares, finding a love for llamas too, luckily my friend has two, one white one brown, so I think a brown llama should be next. Having a break with oils for a couple of weeks, canvases drying in the shed, so my living room has some space back for now 😀

Haha oh my, they’re both wonderful Rebecca but your llama is so brilliant it’s making me chuckle. They always wear such a carefree, naughty look, don’t they? You got it perfectly! Day made, even if it is only half twelve! 😉
