Our hospice art auction on 20×20″ is fast approaching. I started a hare in oil, but have really been struggling, having not used oil for about a year, I have got rusty! I will finish it, but decided to start another different hare, in mixed media, my only problem is I don’t know what to seal/ varnish it with?? A trip to the art shop I think. I will post the oil hare when he is finished, this submission is called ‘Presence of mind’ clear gesso, watercolour, gouache ( and varnish, to add, for protection)

Mixed media, 20×20″ canvas for hospice auction ‘Presence of mind’

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Gorgeous! No clue about the sealer but lovely hare!

A very serene hare. Your mixed mediums are just perfect.

Thank you Sharon, more by accident that it ended up that way…..it is mainly watercolour, but for the purists, it is not!
