A very busy couple of days

Wow, what a couple of days, Tuesday was the start of our local county show, the New Forest Show, although it is on for three days, I could only attend for the one day this year. It was very good, lots of animal classes, entertainment main attraction was the military parade, which was beautiful. Wednesday we spent with the very talented photographer Henry Szwinto, he has a new line of equine photography, and we are using some of the horses from the yard as models ( plus some riders, my daughter and a friend Alison) he has used lighting for portrait shots previously, but on Wednesday, the idea was to be a more surreal experience, photos in dresses, including a wedding dress, and taken in fields, with long ready to cut hay, at Brokenhurst park. Using both a small pony and an eventer, provides a show case of alternative looks/ styles, to suit any equine lover wishing to take up a similar experience for that prized shot! Check out this link for some of Henry’s amazing work. Also his general portrait work of families without the equines is just brilliant, with a twist that is truly memorable.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
