Polo, watercolour attempt, I lost it with this, and despite finishing( ish) my heart was not in it

I gave it a go, and yet again realised I really struggle with the whole body of a horse ( or any animal for that matter) I won’t give up with trying again in the future, but need a paint boost again where my heart is back in the right place. Why do I struggle with the whole beast? It looks ok as a thumbnail picture!! Lol but that it it. And I reverted back to trying to put too much detail in again, grrrr, self frustration. I thought I would put it in as things don’t always go right.

Watercolour polo, I had started this so decided to finish it, really my heart was not in it and I lost interest

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

  3. It’s hard when we feel frustrated and not in the flow. You’re learning as you go. There is no such thing as failure, only feedback. Look at all the things you did right in this work …

  4. Thank you for your comment, I know you are right, I feel better today about it being a learning process, rather than after the four days of a struggle! I don’t want to have to stick to just heads! And that didn’t happen over night either, even they go wrong, but I can usually see where tho correct. Really having fun playing with different mediums, and watercolour is new to me, beginning of 2015 ( apart from the odd attempt)
