I am one hour late with this one, however my next post will be well in the time frame, for the day’s schedule, it’s 1am on the 25 th.
well I had quickly get on with this late post, ‘ pony power 1’ sorry guys it’s another horse, I need the practice to improve. This is on 9×12 arches cold press 140 lb block. I enjoyed this, but I couldn’t leave it alone and felt some of the marks were too harsh, decided to try another pony, but a little more toned down, see my next post ‘ pony power 2’

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Love it! I really love the mane and tail…the way you rendered those is so skillful and awesome! 😍

Thank you Charlie, I love painting the mane and tail, they usually end up longer and bushier than they would have been…my chance at some hairdressing, lol

I still love it, the second one was better if what you wanted was softer lines but this one is very beautiful, just a bit different in style with the darker, bolder lines. I just love the energy and movement in this one. Feels like a warrior horse!

Great movement here Rebecca. I’ve been sketching horses and they are a challenge…getting all those muscles and shadows right. Beautiful work!

Thank you, you are quite right, they are tough, I get one right and think, yippee, only to find the next few a real challenge, practice, practice 😀

I love it, the boldness has gone up a notch – warrior horse indeed! But still so graceful. Love the motion in the tail.

Beautiful, love the strength and fluid look of the pony. The energy really echoes in the use of the washes.

Thank you, it was a shame that the contrast was a little too much, so I will re visit this one a fresh sometime soon 😀
