Today has been really miserable, it has rained constantly, and HEAVY, all the little back roads were flooded, and many fields in the forest were under water. I am lucky, although our fields are mud, they are not under water, and my ponies come in every night, snuggled in their rugs, with Haynets ready. This morning I decided not to ride, as still in pain (torn hamstring). Instead I took Woody in the school and lunged, plus a little bit of fun, lunging over a jump. Inspired I wanted to paint something to represent woody’s willing and focus, I went for slightly abstract, using Indian ink and watercolour. I didn’t want to spend time on a fussy background, nor too detailed as I can’t sit for long, and most was completed standing. So this is ‘rhythm and bounce’

Wonderful watercolor Rebecca! I love the palette and the gesture of the horse.

Thank you, it’s a little different to my usual, but fun to create imaginary backgrounds

Thank you JP….I am moving too, just not well, a little like the tin man is how I am. Anyone got some oil? Feeling rusty!

Thank you vicki, I am not great at abstract, but bringing in a little is fun. In fact I loved your recent post, re abstract, admirable, as I totally believe it is harder than it looks, I sometimes start something and it ends up a true mess. Yours is lovely, and the colours work beautifully.
