I have spent the whole day painting, apart from mucking out the ponies this morning. Instead of finishing the paintings I started yesterday, I did my usual, and started something new. Inspired by the draw a bird day, that I have seen others participate in. I picked a pheasant, mainly because I don’t get too many birds in my garden, not a bad thing, as having five cats, their life could be compromised! We do see lots of birds in the new forest, and the fields often have visiting pheasants, I have photographed many over the years. This is ‘startled’ I will see if I can work out how to post this to the draw a bird day link??? If anyone is interested, it began with Laura at create art everyday, it is now hosted by Kerfe and Nina at Methodtwomadness, draw a bird day

‘Startled’ pheasant watercolour, with some acrylic! Draw a bird day
Love the wing action. N.

Thank you Nina, I find wings rather frustrating, because of this I try to tackle my issues head on and paint birds with open wings, only one way to get better, keep trying!

It is the 8th. Sure, when Kerfe and Nina do their post on the 8th just post a link to this underneath it.

Thank you jodi, and yes it was fantastic to stay in and paint all day, it is relaxing when you know all the other jobs in the house, and the horses are done.

Thank you Sharon, fluttering wings are a problem for me, so tackling them is my answer.

You can put the link in on Feb 8; in any case I will bookmark this for inclusion in the summary. (K)
