‘Watchman’ watercolour horse
Oh what fun this horse was to paint, something quite relaxing and therapeutic about creating such a flowing meandering mane. The very regal ‘Watchman’

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
I love this, especially the dry brush work for the mane.

The mane was my fav bit, in fact I got so into it, I was on the edge of wrecking it! I just could not stop.

Thank you Laura, I think I made it look much gusty than it was!

Yes, I’m with Laura – this has a beautifully powerful breeze to it, Rebecca – marvellous work (as ever!)

Thank you Jacob, I guess my sub conscious was expressing some of the weather we have had lately?

Oh, perhaps – it wouldn’t be a surprise! It’s been incredibly blustery here, and not even any snow to make up for it!

beautiful. it’s soft but the nostrils are graphic and powerfully shaped. Very nice.

Thank you, I did actually think the nostrils were too harsh, but it was a fun painting, that I was not too fussed about, so decided to leave as was, right or wrong?
