Charcoal and pastel, male figure study

With charcoal and pastels to hand ( they are out rather a lot at the moment) I decided to practice a little figure drawing, this time male. I have a book called virtual pose 3 by mario Henri chakkour. It contains reference photos of male and female nude poses, also comes with a cd rom, both for Mac and PCs, which I have not used yet. I guess this is the next best thing to life drawing, and as I can’t afford to go to classes, nor do I have any friends that would willingly pose for me! Ha ha.

I have started four drawings, but only finished two. The weekend ran out of time for me, but I did also manage two good rides on the forest, and some schooling with Woody. ( tried a new bit from the bit bank, bombers happy tongue, and good signs so far, so looks like I will buy it for him)

here are my men….the best I can do is a paper form, as I was told once ‘ if you want a stable relationship, get a horse’. I took it literally!

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
