Quiet but still here sktchy30 challenge

Hi all, I am sorry I have been so quiet lately, although I have been very busy with work, I have managed to keep up with some painting each day, infact I have just completed my first ever painting challenge sktchy30….. An email prompt was sent each morning to participating artists, and I am so pleased to have completed each by the midnight deadline, fitting around horses and work was tough but achieving this was a great boost to myself 😀. Just got back from a beautiful bluebell sponsored ride in Dorset, ponies were superstars, and the rain held back for us. …..now what to paint tonight?

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel,inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

      Ah yes I have missed it Margaret, I needed a break with work being so busy, only just having enough time to paint, so posting and checking out others on WP had to go on the back burner, I do hope I can keep up now more settled with work, we shall see, I am going to try though 😀

      Ah thank you Snehal, just very limited on time, I was finding it hard to keep up with replies and viewing other people’s wonderful blogs, i really miss that, but juggling jobs I am not sure I will be able to keep up like I had previously, but I will still post now and then….thank goodness it was a bank holiday yesterday, giving me a little extra time. Even finding time to paint is a struggle, 😀

        Oh yes please do message me, any time, I feel quite sad as I really wanted to work on selling this year, but the time and effort involved in pushing oneself on social media is just too much for me, so I will continue to paint for fun 😀

      I must say that neither can I 😀 It was a great challenge, but I could not do more than the month, I really did put off doing other stuff just to fit in a decent amount of painting. Fun though. Now back to painting daily, but not finishing for days, more normal. Welcome to my blog and to the blogging world 👏🏼
