‘Archie’

I stumbled upon this delightfully handsome chap on Facebook. Archie belongs to my friend Fran. I was messing about with back ground effects, and decided to add Archie to the splodges of paint, it started off as a practice/play, so I had only used my cheaper paper, after starting in ink I then added some watercolour. I was quite pleased how my play time had turned out….why does it happen that way, maybe I should alway use the good stuff? I have now sent Archie to his mum, especially as she will be getting married so very soon, a small gift to cherish, I am sure he will look great framed.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

  1. Beautiful portrait…..I think that is why I always use good paper, because you never know if a magical moment happens. Also I think that I am addicted to how paint moves on good paper. 😉

Yes, for some reason the messing about always turns good when it is on cheap paper… we relax due to lack of pressure at ruining expensive paper perhaps?
