Catching up with a few people, in an arty way

I have been a little lost with painting lately, I keep starting, but then set pieces aside unfinished. Unsure of where I want them to go, or getting bored and wishing to move onto the next? Or is it because I have so many ideas, I just want to do them all before I forget? I have no idea, probably a combination of the above. Well this weekend I set to a catch up of these strangers lost in the bottom drawer. They are all painted using reference photos from Sktchy app, completed with a combination of ink and watercolour. I feel relieved that they are now complete, out of the drawer, and filed.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

Fantastic selection! The accessories in their respective possession are all marvellously done too. I’m especially fond of ‘Man’ – the texture really works well; a handsomely laid-back expression and fab hair! 😉

    • Thank you Jacob, so pleased you like ‘ man’ I was pulled to him because of his hair, I kept it simple and added an overlay with cling film for texture, it took well on hotpress paper. 😀 Much better looking in the photo than my painting, lol

  6. These came out fantastic Rebecca! So glad you finished them. I also go through getting stuck for the same reasons you described. sometimes I just power through to get it done. I really prefer setting them aside and looking at it later with fresh eyes.
