I think this has to be one of my favourite tubes of paint, Daniel smith ‘ shadow violet’ it splits to so many colour, every time I use it I smile 😀😀😀😀.
Here are two examples, the first is ‘ vision’ 10×14″ on coldpress 140 lb. the second is ink and wash on hotpress ‘the halt’ 10×7″

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel,inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

Thank you, both are quite different, as also on different paper, I think the colours pop more on the hot press, which surprised me 😀

Yes – I never use black, but I did recently do a panda and use a Daniel Smith color that is very cool – very granulating – called Hematite Genuine. I sometimes use Panes Gray, and I have used Neutral tint.

I have to get Shadow Violet! Both are gorgeous but the 2nd one is WOW! I agree with Jodi, Hematite Genuine is awesome.

Thank you JP, I decided to get the ink out again, and really try hard to keep it simple, and preserve whites…not something I am great at, I usually go back and add more, but with that one I thought ‘ NO’ put the paint away, he he…before the hand did more damage !😀
