Black and white=colour

This was a fun portrait to paint, I found a cute black and white photo of a young girl on the Sktchy app, and converted her into my colourful with gold hints version. Super cute! I am loving Holbein gouache brilliant gold, so much sparkle ( thanks Charlie at doodlewash blog review….I have wanted it for ages) camera does not pick it up well, but the bling is there 😀

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

    • Thank you Jodi, sometimes people ask if they can buy, I think it depends on how many times a photo has been painted before, and how many they could have bought in the past…you can now sell officially on Sktchy, when up loading there is a link to sell, they arrange postage and send you a pre paid postage print out, so this makes it easier for international sales, they take 30% commision which is standard, but I think this can push a price higher than some people would wish to pay once the artist works out the amount they would require. You should try it, because your work is stunning, you can search for any genre of image you like, is dog, cat, horse, jumping, glasses etc, the possibilities are endless 😀
