‘Anticipation’ watercolour and ink

Todays post is a rough and ready watercolour and ink, inspired from a visit to our local county show, and a display put on by the local hounds. All the dogs were tremendously friendly, and enjoyed having the children in the ring with them.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

  9. I adore this-I had the pleasure of owning two foxhounds at different times and they were such wonderful, loving creatures. It is fun too to see them in a large pack interacting with each other-beautiful work!

    • Thank you, I am so pleased you like it, they are wonderful dogs, often mis understood…..although when my dog ( kelpie X lab) met up with a pack a few years ago she took one look and ran, he he, I guess the size of them, and their confidence scared her a little, although they were not one bit nasty, silly dog, she is quite a timid sort.
