Todays post is another quickie, it’s a young hare leveret, I painted her on 200 lb cold press 30×40 cm again I used the Tarmac by terry Harrison, WN sepia, burnt sienna, yellow ocre, burnt umber…..just making the most of the good weather, so less time for painting. Have a great weekend .

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

    • Thank you jodi…..erratic process today, I was going from flitting between colours, back and fourth, then to the head, a leg, back to the head…..not as controlled today, in fact I nearly thought it was going to be for the bin, heading toward the overworked stage as I was correcting lines and badly placed marks, on this occasion
DR ph. Martin’s bleed proof white saved the day, and I was able to correct without muddling too much…..it is the perfect white, do check it out. Eventually the bunny did bounce off the page 😀

  6. Really beautiful as always Rebecca and it’s hard for me to believe that anything you paint could go to the bin! I just love how alive your animals are and how it seems we know them because you’ve captured their spirit on the page. Did you do this from a reference or from your imagination? Either way, pretty amazing how there is a discernible personality there. 💜

  7. Wonderful! The colours and textures are so lively. And, as so many said, he looks like he’s hoping out of my computer screen. 🙂
