We have had the most beautiful couple of days here in the uk, so nice in fact that the best place to be was the coast swimming in the sea. The surprise sunshine came as a shock to us all. Maybe not all found it so welcoming, the poor ponies on the forest were hiding out in the shade, often under the railway bridges, which means clusters of ponies stood on the road, creating a pony blockade, the ponies look content in the shade, but the tooting cars during the busy morning work run, result in some frustrated drivers…..the ponies are not phased by the horns of the car, so the noise is of no benefit….if it were me, I would just turn the engine off, and maybe join them, chilled for a moment in time, watching the world go by. Why is life such a hectic rush. The simple things!

Thank you Cynthia, that was actually the paint traveling when wet, and therefore went much lighter, I thought about going back over it. But decided I like the loose, free and imperfect look, I wanted this to be a one sit paint, something I don’t usually do, terry Harrison Tarmac is the new black for me, I love how it granulated, makes it exciting as you never know how it might look until dry. 😀

Yep, and it is usually under bridges, sometimes there can be Upto twenty or so huddled under a bridge, proper road block!

He he, I often do….I usually stop the car and usher them off the rd. I recall once a foal stood I. The middle of the road, causing mayhem for divers, eventually gridlock, I was a few cars behind, so I jumped out the car, and the stubborn youngster was not going to move, I had to almost physically pick it up and move it off the rd…..not that I recommend people do this, as they are classed as wild ponies, but you get to know the herds when out riding, and their personalities, if the mares will tolerate you approaching, usually the foals do too…..it would have been easier if it was more flighty, then it would have run off the road. Woody the pony I ride, was forest born, but he used to stand in the rd constantly, also being so laid back about people it was feared he would get killed on the rd, so he and his mother were removed from the forest, he was a lucky one, many are killed by careless drivers each month.
