This is a couple of fairly quick pieces of work, one watercolour,the other is graphite on Kraft card. I have been busy with the oils creating ( hopefully) a large horse head, of Bettie 1mX1m, so my energy is being pushed in that direction for the next week or so, ….getting into the oil zone again! I will still post watercolours, but will do something quickly in the evenings. I am trying to sort and or paint works for the Hampshire open studio, so busy busy, with work and ponies also fitted in, will I have time? Hopefully 😀 These are my lottie studies.

^ I agree, these are always a treat – the graphite sketch in particular is breathtaking; such movement but still so soft, and the whites really bring her out. Lotti is incredible!

Once again, I’m lost in admiration, Rebecca. I can’t pick a favorite and I’m still agog that you did that watercolor “fairly quick”. The drawing alone is just … wow. I just love the way you paint, the way you draw, you strike a perfect balance because we can tell you’re familiar with the subject, you’re relaxed and running with the horses, we can feel that and we love it! When I see someone with your skill & talent, I’m just … pretty much running out of words. Especially with horses, we all know and love them but until you try drawing them, really try to draw a horse from a reference and get them to match, only then do you realize how difficult it truly is. Just stunning results, as usual, and I really need to remind myself that even though I’m used to seeing this from you on a constant basis!!! I’m becoming spoiled. Just beautiful!

Well thank you….Laura if you can get hold of some Kraft card give it a try, your graphite drawings are superb, and Kraft card gives a extra something sort of look.
I think we are all spoiled here on WordPress, seeing such great posts each day from a wonderful group of people. I could do with never working, just to sit and read each and every post each day, instead 😀

Try the craft section, it is used for card making, scrap books etc, I think it is called the same in the US, we got it over here after the US had been using it for years 😀 it’s a cheaper way to get tinted card, it took a little water too for the light wash I put on it, so I was quite pleased, oh and it’s cheap 😀

Thank you Susan,…not a lot of movement in Woody this morning, he was flat out asleep, bless, he was even snoring lightly, I should have taken a photo, instead of going in for a cuddle and lying down with him 😀

Awww I love knowing that! I’m having s blast too with it. I’m now in my second year of consecutive daily painting and it’s a real push to keep on doing it!! Hehe

I have no idea how you do it, I am totally loving this month, pushing myself, but to paint, complete it, and post it….oh and reply to so many comments, you are superman. I just could not keep it up for more than a month, let alone a year. Wow now it’s more….into your second year!…oh I forgot another bit, you are so fabulous in also commenting regularly on other bloggers posts. I don’t know how you do it? Thank you, she was very alive the day I took the photos, bucking and running about, shame my camera skills were not Upto speed, using a new lens meant I missed some of the good action. More practice needed, as the lens zoom works the opposite way to my old one, so I was zooming out when I wanted to go in closer, hey ho!

Well an hour each ish I only had 2 and a half hours with getting stuff out etc I probably was painting drawing for two hrs. I usually take much longer, maybe average 3 hrs, and some I go back to the following day for completion. I think with this lottie in watercolour I was less careful and some of the paper was still wet, so the paint spread to areas I had not intended, I just didn’t have the waiting time. It didn’t matter really, I knew it would happen as I was rushing 😀 so pleased you like them 👍
