For today’s post I have gone back to my old friend the hare. This hare was found on the Facebook page photos for artists, the photograph was taken by Danny Brannigan. This is a great group to join for inspiration. My version of this hare was completed in two days, basic hare was loosely painted yesterday, then the addition of the hairs and eye was finished today. For this reason I am calling him’The day after yesterday’ 16″x12″ 140lb cold pressed.
I am loving this months worldwatercolormonth, it is giving me the ideal opportunity to create pieces for the upcoming Hampshire open studio, in August …and of course some great opportunities to just practice pieces, just because 😀

this is just absolutely stunning! I don’t know how you do it!!!??? All watercolor? How much time does something like this take? How many “layers?” Would you ever consider showing progress pics? I’m just blown away by the eye and the fur and everything about this!

Thank you jodi, It took two days, I think four layers, mainly for the fur, I always think I should take pictures as I go along, then totally forget, either carried away, or its so late( early hrs of the morning) all in I think it is maybe three -four hrs work. Yes with this one it is all watercolour, sometimes I get bored and use a combination of other mediums, like ink, pastel, charcoal, but as nothing else was out, I stuck with WC.

Absolutely incredible work. How do you do it????? Holy heck, Rebecca. You would rock YouTube. Did you know you can actually make money from YT doing this? I think it’s why so many really talented people are out there doing it. You have fur down to a science, and people want to know how to do this! Not to mention horses. Your channel would be rocking. Beautiful work!
