This is a quick post, I finished this today, another of my slate paintings.
Four more oils to finish, then I am having a break….back to watercolour, and or pastel.

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel,inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

Thank you Laura, the white is usually a horse colour I avoid, having done a photo shoot on the weekend with my friends Andalusian, I will be tackling this avoidance galloping! 😀

Thank you Snehal, I usually avoid white horses, but I had started it while doing the bay horse on slate, as the dark colours were harder to make pop……I do like adding lots of mane, it’s a therapy all of its own. It was lovely to glaze a white horse as the effects are seen instantly 😀

Thanks Charlie, I think it will be watercolour….I have a new paint set on its way from Japan, really exited, kuretake, 36 colours gansai. Have you tried them before? Can’t wait.

I was quite pleased with the effect, especially as I usually avoid completely white horses….should get lots of practice with Tenor, next photo shoot Monday evening.

Thank you, my aim lately is to paint parts of the horse, and more action, I just need to perfect…..oh that’s too far….get better, at showing movement, lol
