A little more painting on a stormy Spring day

Really ….it is Spring! It is pretty hard to tell when you glance out the window. A day off work today, and there was no way I was going for a ride. Gale force warnings, and the forecast was right, rain, rain, rain, and mix in some angry wind, what a day….poor ponies ( at least they are tucked up in their stables for the night).

After my play with the japenese papers, it was only right that I continued with the watercolours, so I sat in all day and painted, listening to the wind, and waiting for my SAA order of two new oil brushes to arrive ( and they did, happy me).

Hoping for calm weather when I wake tomorrow, not that it matters too much, as I will be at work, but I think the ponies are fed up of MUD….it starts to dry up, and then we get downpours.its been a very muddy four months.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate

My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow. I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use. I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.

    • Thank Laura….the brushes are lush, it was a mop brush, so I can lightly swish over, blending colours to a seamless effect ( that’s the plan) a little like I did with the Arab oil painting, only I improvised with an old watercolour mop brush, which worked ok, but when you have a money off voucher it’s nice to get the right tools.
