I have finally finished this watercolour hare after 4 months. He has been sat on the side half complete, waiting for me to consider finishing, today was the day.

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
Love it! Did you paint the white?

Hi jodi, yes I did in areas, to get the hair look…..took a few layers mind you. I always layer lots of colours, light over dark, and dark over light, to try and get a more realistic coat on an animal, after all that is how nature does it. Plus a few additional tones within the hair. I am sure there is a correct way of doing hair, but this works for međŸ˜€

Love the ultra clear eyes, great contrast to the softer fur.

Thank you Malcolm, I think I was scared of the fur, which was why I left it so long. Pleased it is finished.

Thank you Sharon, sometimes when not in the mood to paint, it is best left for a day that feels right.
