I couldn’t resist painting a pony, I decided to make this one quick, with rough paint gestures for this pony, lots of fun, but difficult to rectify mistakes! His ear is wrong, and I tried to correct with black, and then add some black in other areas to even it out ( the harsh marks that is) although I do like my darks, including black, it really did not help this pony, nor did it solve his ear problem. Other than that I was happy, and enjoyed painting in a style I don’t usually do. I will try something like this again though, as I kinda like this look, but I will hide the black paint!

Beautiful paint. Even the ear looks good. Looks good to me all the way from this side.
I loved it .. Made me smile. Thank you 😊

I think it’s not a mistack. That’s the pony character influence.
It gives it a little male identity tho.
Just keep up what your doing because it seems you’re doing it by heart.
Beautiful 🙂

Oh the eyes and the nose and the different shades of the face and the hair – amazing!

Thank you Jodi, funny enough, being spontaneous I thought it would have been the eye, or the nose that went wrong, but I was happy with them.

Thank you Jodi, I am happy with him, just self critical…..if it had of turned out worse, he would have found the bin! 😉

Why not crop the ear out if it really bothers you (although I can’t tell) – his nose is where the action is for me, the focal point! Great job!!

Now that’s an idea I had not considered, I will look and doing that when I get back from mucking out the ponies. Torn my hamstring, so can’t ride at the moment….sitting also a problem, which is why this technique was brilliant, stood up and faster than my usual style…others I have on the go are only I merging on the page at a snails pace, when they say rest, it’s easier said than done, especially with reliant animals. Have a great day

Thank you Sharon, chestnut with flaxen mane and tail, with a few colours I added for interest, artist prerogative 😀
