I have been experimenting with painting in ink, a variety of colours and brands, ( brown shades and white) plus black Indian ink watered down, and neat. Although I have used ink before, it has been for use in backgrounds. It was interesting to use and quite fun, although correcting mistakes was trick, as no way of rubbing back to white! As in watercolour.( small people faces are clearly not my thing).

About REcreate-RebeccaEvansCreate
My name is Rebecca Evans, living in the New Forest I have been inspired to paint the many animals often seen around me. Having ridden since Childhood, painting equines was a natural path to follow.
I use a variety of media, watercolour, oil, charcoal, pastel, inks, plus a few more, infact I will try most things. Choosing the medium to work with can really change the effect of the art, and therefore the character of the animal. Sometimes it is an instant decision, sometimes it is the mood from within me which determines which medium I choose to use.
I never know what might inspire me next, but if it’s hairy, I will be sure to try.
I love the horse! Great colors and you actually managed to show his happiness in your painting. Great accomplishment!

Thank you, I enjoyed painting him….I think ink will feature a little more frequently now, I would like to do something large with big brush strokes, as I love the way the inks interact when they are still wet.It was hard to achieve with these smaller horse examples, but I have managed in my backgrounds. Something to try for the new year.
